Adult Education

"Improving the Quality of Life Through Education"

The Adult Education Department (AED) provides instruction designed for out-of-school individuals that are at or beyond the age compulsory school attendance and who function at less than secondary school completion level. This includes assistance for students with basic reading, writing, math and literacy skills, English language proficiency for limited English proficient adults (ESL), and preparation for the attainment of the General Education Development (GED©) certificate. The Adult Education Department also provides workforce readiness skills for individuals seeking employment or advancement in their current employment. Our dedicated staff provides instruction free of charge to all eager participants, including those individuals that may qualify for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

In addition, the AED is a certified Pearson VUE testing center and administers the official GED© test along with various other assessments.

We provide these services to ensure that our participants obtain the necessary skills and/or education certification needed to become more employable, productive, and responsible citizens.
