Coronavirus Update - CDC
In response to the growing concern and continued spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID – 19, and following the closures of our school districts and after school activities, Region 6 Education Service Center will remain closed this at least through this week, and all of our programs are on hold until further notice.
Please know, we will continue to monitor this rapidly evolving situation and keep you informed on the plans for all of our programs as we receive information. Please be patient with us as we make plans to reschedule the classes, trainings, and testing appointments and know that we will reach out to you all as soon as we know when school activities can be resumed in an effort to give you all the chance to plan accordingly.
TxDOT has asked us to postpone any scheduled trainings until at least April 3rd, so you will receive an email regarding make-up dates for any workshop you may be registered for between now and then.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our community and school district officials as they make these decisions and attempt to keep us all safe, as well as all the families affected by the virus.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Thank you and have a great day!
Region 6 Education Service Center will be delivering staff development workshops for driver education instructors throughout the state in 2020. The workshops are four hours in length and will meet the requirements for continuing education credit for commercial school instructors and four of the six hours for public school driver education instructors. Participants will receive a certificate upon full completion of all 4 hours. (Please Note - Certificates will be emailed following verification of attendance, completion of pre & post-assessments & workshop evaluation - within 5 business days of the workshop). Partial credit will not be awarded. Times for all workshops: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
***IMPORTANT - Please make sure that you register with a VALID email address, as certificates for the workshops will be emailed the week following the workshop. You may correct any errors to your email on the sign-in sheet at the workshop. Certificates will only be emailed upon verification of attendance and completion of the pre & post-assessments & workshop evaluation. Certificates will not be distributed at the workshop as in years past and will NOT be issued without the pre & post-assessments & workshop evaluation being completed and turned in before leaving the workshop.
