Tiered Interventions Using Evidence-Based Research (TIER) is a project funded by the Texas Education Agency. The goal is to provide educators, caregivers, and other educational stakeholders with the knowledge and materials to ensure appropriate implementation of multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) in every school across Texas.
A series of modules focus on different components of MTSS. Within each module, you’ll find more specific pathways. A pathway includes a presentation with handouts. For more information or to participate in a pathway training, visit the Certified TIER Trainers page to find your region's certified trainers. For more information, contact: TIER@meadowscenter.org.
The Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI) is a state-level training that meets the requirements mandated by Texas Education Code §37.0021 and Texas Administrative Code §89.1053. TBSI provides foundational knowledge for the use of positive behavior interventions and supports for all students, including students with disabilities. While the TBSI training meets legislative requirements related to procedures for the use of restraint and time-out, it also provides a framework for sharing a wide range of foundational-level behavior strategies and prevention-based schoolwide, classroom, and individual interventions.
Restorative Discipline Practices in Texas:
The 74th Texas Legislative appropriated funds to provide non-educational community-based support services for certain students with disabilities and their families to help them care for their children with severe disabilities and to enable them to better cope with having an individual with a disability at home.
