Driver Education Virtual School 101 "A SAFE Drive into the Future" (TXVSN)

Upon successful completion of this 56 Hour course, each student will receive ½ credit toward High School graduation. "A SAFE Drive into the Future” is provided through the Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN), which is a dynamic, comprehensive Computer Based Training (CBT) course for the State of Texas. This is a fun, interactive online course that offers a new educational venue for the technologically driven student population to move into the 21st Century, not only in the driver’s seat, but at the computer desk as well. This course represents a new era for Driver Education and is taught by teachers that are certified by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC), Web Instructor Certified and are Driver Education Certified. The course consists of 12 interactive modules derived from the most current curriculum adopted by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and not only features student-to-teacher activities, but student-to-student activities throughout the course. This course provides the students with the skills and foundation to continue the lifelong process of reduced-risk driving practices found in the traffic environment. The students will be able to work at their own pace in accordance to each module’s timeframe and will have the convenience of the technological mobility of this web-based education environment.
