The National School Breakfast and Lunch program is a federally assisted meal program that provides meals to Texas children in school and residential child care institutions. The meals are nutritious, low-cost or free to students. All meals must meet federal nutritional guidelines, and are reimbursable to schools based on the number of meals served.
Our program contacts provide both technical assistance and professional development for district personnel in the Child nutrition program. For assistance with your breakfast and lunch program contact the program contacts for assistance.
Program assistance is free to all Region 6 schools. Professional development is also free of charge except when certifications are applied to trainings, then a certification fee is charged. Funding is provided by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
