Response to Intervention

The reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act in 2004 and recent research in education both point to the need for Response to Intervention as a model for student success before Special Education services are needed. Specifically, the areas of reading, math, and behavior are included in the reauthorization. Region 6 is committed to supporting districts in their implementation of this crucial model.

Support services include:

  • Professional development, including Response to Intervention, the 3 Tier Model, and other related training
  • Technical assistance, by phone, email, or contract
  • On-site contracted professional development sessions
