Math/Science Fee Service (M/SFS)
The Math/Science Fee Service provides member school districts with access to intensive and sustained high quality professional development that has a positive and lasting impact on classroom performance which is aligned with state/national content standards and state performance standards. Professional learning will be provided through regional and on-site trainings covering topics such as mathematics/science concept development, instructional strategies, assessment, TEKS/STAAR, parent training, and technology integration. Technical assistance will be provided in long-range planning, curriculum alignment, state/national updates, content/program information, resource distribution, instructional coaching, and program implementation. Non-member districts may attend training for the regular non-member workshop fees.
The ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screeners are a formative assessment system administered to students in grades 2-8 to support instructional decisions. The content of the ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screener is based on algebra-readiness skills as identified in the Texas Response to Curriculum Focal Points. Results can help teachers identify students who are in need of additional instructional support in their development of knowledge and skills that relate directly to algebra readiness. Teachers will be able to monitor students' risk status by administering comparable forms of the ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screeners in fall, winter, and early spring.
The ESTAR/MSTAR Diagnostic Assessment, designed to follow the ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screener, is administered to identify WHY students are struggling with algebra-related core instruction, and provides information that can be used to plan supplemental instruction.
