Driver Education Classroom, Simulation and Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Instruction

Region 6 ESC offers all phases of Driver Education in block or concurrent formats. Classes can be taught in the school day, after school and summer.

  • Simulation consists of 12 hours of instruction in simulation driving activities. Simulators are housed in a 12’ x 60’ mobile classroom trailer and will require special set up location and electrical requirements.
  • Simulation and Behind-the-Wheel consists of 12 hours of simulation, 4 hours of BTW and 4 hours of observation instruction.
  • 32 hour Classroom is a non-school credit course that consists of 32 hours of classroom instruction.
  • 56 hour Classroom is a one-half school credit course that consists of 56 hours of classroom instruction. Dependent upon instructor availability.
