Sheila Barry has worked in public education for over 23 years, including 14 years in school leadership prior to her service at Region 6 ESC in the leadership and accountability department. She has served as elementary principal, secondary assistant principal, computer/technology teacher, business teacher, and middle school reading teacher. Sheila holds a Master of Education and her professional certifications include Texas Superintendent, Mid-Management Administrator, Secondary Business Composite, Information Processing Technologies, and Secondary Reading. She is also certified as an ILD and PDAS appraiser and instructor.
Currently, her role is Region 6 ESC School Improvement Specialist and Regional State Assessment Coordinator, with a specialization in student assessment, accountability, and appraisal systems. Ms. Barry assists administrators and teachers in their efforts to use data as a guide to influence instruction and increase student success.
