Dr. Brent Hawkins

Deputy Director for Administrative Services

I am extremely excited about becoming a part of the Region 6 family.  I bring a wide array of experiences to the position of Deputy Director.  I have been extremely fortunate to work with some outstanding teams and started my career as an administrator in a Region 6 school district. In my public education service I have held a variety of positions: bus driver, classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, director of curriculum and instruction, and Superintendent of schools.  I have served two separate districts as Superintendent and my dissertation is in the area of school finance.  In 2005 I was named Renaissance Learning National Educational Leader of the Year and in 2009 I received the CSCOPE Maverick Award from Region 6 Education Service Center.  My wife Jenny and I have been married for 14 years and we have three children: Gracie, Hannah, and Halle.

The values and the commitment to service in the relentless pursuit of serving kids that the Region 6 team exemplifies made me want to be a part of this organization.  As the Deputy Director for Administrative Services, I oversee Safety Education and Training, Computer Services, Technology Services, Business Services, Internal Operations, and Field Services.
