$1000 scholarships will be awarded to two senior students in Region VI who plan to major in the field of education. The students must pursue an education in a Texas college or university and have notice of acceptance before the scholarship is awarded.
The scholarship was established by regional administrators at the time of Max Schlotter’s retirement in 1988. He served as an educator for over 40 years and was instrumental in helping to develop the education service center concept in the State. He served as Executive Director for ESC, Region VI from its inception in 1967 until his retirement.
The application form is located here (download application), and there are two ways the application can be filled in:
- Applicants can download the document, save it to their desktop, enter their data, print the document and sign before returning. Or
- Applicants may print the document and fill in by hand.
In either case, this form must be used in order for the applicant to be considered.

The completed applications must be returned to Glenda Swor at the Education Service Center no later than March 26, 2010 by Blue Streak or the US Postal Service. If using the postal service, the application must be postmarked no later than March 26, 2010. The winners will be chosen in April and the school will be notified of the decision.
