Region 6 ESC supports fine arts education by defining and supplying quality professional development for educators based on the fine arts TEKS. While each district may choose to implement the TEKS in a variety of ways, efforts focus on the integration of the fine arts in the core curriculum and building a district vision for fine arts. Region 6 ESC will assist districts with the implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) through the following avenues:
- Annual Fine Arts Conference
- Fine Arts listserv and networking providing the latest information from TEA
- A cadre of teachers to serve as support and modeling for other teachers
- Professional development on the implementation of the TEKS, instructional approaches, and experiential learning
