The driver improvement course is designed to promote driver safety to all district students, staff, bus drivers, maintenance drivers, and school employees. This course can also be offered to all licensed drivers in the community. The goal of these courses is to train drivers in collision prevention techniques while promoting an attitude of mutual understanding, courtesy, and cooperation on the road. Utilizing proven safe driving procedures while emphasizing physical and mental readiness and awareness, participants will obtain information that will make operation of a vehicle safer for them and their passengers. Driver Improvement/Driver Safety Course is a Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved six-hour course that provides a 10% discount on liability auto insurance to all participants that complete the course and the discount is valid for three years. This course is for insurance discounts only.
