The Texas Education Code requires that the Commissioner of Education recommend an appraisal process for superintendents. This process must include a student performance domain. School districts may either use the Commissioner’s Recommended Student Performance Domain or a process and criteria that have been developed locally in consultation with district and campus-level committees and adopted by the board. Region 6 ESC will provide training in the statutory requirements for Administrator Appraisal and the Student Performance Domain. The training is mandatory unless the district has adopted its own local process and criteria and is conducted in a two-hour time period.
